AH Custom Skins?
« on: February 12, 2003, 05:45:27 PM »
I was just wondering wether AH2 will move towards a system where, say, there is a # of "approved skins" that can be used by players that will show up online.

This would be different than the current system where the skins are welded to the terrain, which imho is inefficient.

It would be cool to have a "Library or Skins" that players could choose to load (like gunsights and sounds) and players could submitt new ones for approval by HTC. This prevents "neon P-51s" ect, and assures a high level of quality.

Squads, players, and CMs could submitt skins for approval, and I think it would stimulate interest in the sim overall. Win-win.

Just a thought.

I really like them in Warbirds and EAW. Wish they'd do them in Aces High.

It would be nice if once we achieved a certain rank, we would get our own 'personal' aircraft, just like a lot of the air forces did.

For example, if you complete your 1st 100 missions and got a promotion to 1st Lt. you'd get rewarded with your own personal aircraft and would then be able to use custom artwork that of course would be approved by HTC (like they do with the nose art).
