Not everyone reads the boards every hour toad.  Some of us here at work forget that upon occassion.  There just get's to be alot to wade through for those that just stop by occassionally.

Its not that the discussions aren't apreciated or needed or whatever... its just that they are the same thing over and over again.  Like its a competition to see who can get the most responses with their take on a subject.

Throw that and a dab of "let's insight a post riot" and you get a pretty good feel for what has happened in the O'Club as of late.

Deja, I think part of it is living in "exciting times". There HAS been a lot of serious stuff going on, particularly with respect to going to war. That issue alone generates a lot of posts and a lot of corollary threads.

When the world scene is calm, the O-Club generally is as well.

Nonetheless, all the threads that "sink" are still there. And even if you come back a day or two later, they're easily found by flipping through the pages or by doing a quick search.

Not that I care a whit if they split the Forum. I'd still skim both. How many extra mouse clicks would it take, after all?

Animal is correct, this forum has sucked hind tit ever since France recognized we had an O'Club and they did not.

Though I think Animal has had yet another stroke of genius with this suggestion, I'd suspect that the Skuz would much rather spend his day running connectivity issues than baby-sitting a buch of no-life kissingers in this forum.. or any other.

Maybe we're going about asking for this forum all wrong...  Seems we should be posting the request in about 50 different threads adressed to each other answering questions/comments from this thread.

This thread, in and of itself, is PROOF that the O'Club is operating as designed.

Another thing is the call that 7 or 8 posters have brought about this call for a more diversified sub catagorizing.  Im thinking its genuinely 7 or 8 die hard posters that are complaining about an opposite 7 or 8 die hard posters.

Like has been said several times by many more lucid than I:
We are experiencing tremendous upheaval in the political spectrum and coupled with the usual God lovers vrs God haters, things just seem unberable.

I believe things are generally operating as designed.

Ive grown disdainful or changing the normal scheme of things on whims such as this.  Honestly, it aint broke....so dont fix it.

Actually, as has been said by others in this thread, I don't have a problem with any of the posters or what they post.  It'd just be nice to have a choice.  Most days I'd visit both forums, some days I wouldn't.  On the days I didn't, I wouldn't have to wade through twenty-something active topics of the same general category to find other posts.  Fairly simple reasoning, I thought.

I think the idea has merit... works for me.

But I also kind of think that from HTC's perspective it's a bit weird. The BBS revolves around Aces High, not some cultural/news-type website. So here you get a bunch of AH related forums, natch, and then you get an anything goes off-topic forum. For HTC to start branching off into politics and religion and what-not on a commercial flight sim BBS would strike me as a strange move for them to want to make.

I wouldn't mind seeing it, but a forum list along the lines of: general, gameplay, connectivity, bugs, training, special events, politics, religion, music, poetry, sports.... would be pretty strange.
