AH initialization failure and drop to desktop after acknowledging the above code. Just wonderin'.

Change sound card or settings?

I've seldom seen or heard of AH doing that  without it being sound based.

No changes. Was offline for 2 days when the phoneline to the house went down. Finally got that fixed and now the game's porked. *ShruG*

Fixed it. I forgot that I did a system restore when the phoneline first went down to see if the problem was pc related. I rolled back the restore and it works now.

 Thanks for the reply. I'll log both that and my action for future reference.

For future reference, that error is a failure by DirectX to initialize the video card.  Either DirectX is not installed, or the video driver is not registered with DirectX would be the primary reasons for this failure.

My using system restore would affect neither of those. It would, however, affect the latest patch. *ShruG*
