Ronni, can the HTC UBB use pages in posts?
« on: October 20, 2000, 12:20:00 PM »
(I didn't want to put this in technical support because I am not really having an AH problem)

I have seen other UBB sites where when a post gets long enough, it is split into different "pages" within the same thread.  Is this an option for this board?  This would really help those of us using slow analog modems.

An example is the current flame-fest topic in the OT forum.  It has nearly 90 replies and a bunch of graphic files in it.  If this were divided into 2 or 3 different pages, it would help a lot.

Ideally, something like this would be an option.  Modem users could check a box in preferences to split threads up into pages every X number of posts, while those of us with 100MB/sec fiber connections (heh, I wish!) can view them all in one page.

The new "Aces High $19.95 Special Offer" thread is a good example of how dividing threads into different pages would help those of us using slow dial-up modems.

This has been discussed before, and the consensus was that clicking through multiple pages is more of a hassle than waiting for the occasional long thread to load.
