SUPERFLY,

Color schemes for VVS aircraft were two-tone grey camoflauge by '45.  The picture below (Azrael's post has it too) is of a Yak-9U at Monino.  Aper has some good pictures, those last two (White '10' & '22') looking the best.

Also, in Morgan's Osprey book Soviet Aces of world War 2 you would be within VVS regulations if you gave the Yak-9U the color schemes from plates 29, 34, 35, or 36.

Finally, SUPERFLY, check this site out as it is quite comprehensive on VVS color schemes during the GPW.

C'mon Yak-lovers, provide SUPERFLY with a good color profile (side/up/down) of your preferred Yak-9U. Draw one from the pics you have. We did it with the Macchi C.205V. Lets help SUPERFLY. I WANT to fly that thing ASAP
