Actually I'm none of the above- I am a concerned parent who believes there's too much gratuitous sex and violence on television today. I'm not opposed to your "right" to view porn, but I'm opposed to having porn readily available to our children via network TV. Kinda like people who smoke- I don't care, just don't blow it in my face.

By all means, rent whatever tape you want, order any pay per view you want, download whatever kind of porn you want- just don't expect me to agree with you that television should be uncensored. Only other perverts will agree with you. Now go mastrubate and leave me alone.

I don't know, Chairboy. Do you watch your porn videos with your young children? Do you keep your video of "Debbie Does Dallas" next to your 9 year old daughters' video of "The Little Mermaid?" If so then you're right- your porn videos are also family videos.

If, instead, you keep your adult videos hidden in the top shelf of your closet and only sneek them out at night when the kids are asleep then you are agreeing we need to censor what our children can see on the television. I'm not a crusader on this issue, but seeing a lesbian scene at 7:30 PM on HBO, a network channel that's as much a staple of the television dial as TNN, CBS, Discovery Wings or The Cartoon Channel, is proof that censorship isn't TOO restrictive yet.

If you didnt find YOUR fathers porn-magazines and porn tapes when YOU where an kid then you simply didnt look hard enough

Obviously kids are curious about sex, but I don't feel the answer is showing explicit adult situations on prime time television to "satisfy their curiosity." If you disagree then by all means, give your child a copy of an adult video for their next birthday. Of course your kids are also curious about smoking, drinking and any other adult behavior they might hear of, so why not throw in a carton of cigarettes and a bottle of Crown Royal?

In the mean time don't advocate relaxing the already lax standards television adheres to today- some of us don't wish our children to see explicit sex and nudity on prime time television. The fact you, SLO and others see nothing wrong with porn on network television makes me wonder if you have children. Well, do you?

HBO is network television in CA? Here on the right coast we pay extra for it: it's a "premium" channel as opposed to the basic cable service that has all the family stuff.

Yes, it's a prenium channel, but it's part of a cable package in my area. Far different than Playboy Channel or Spice Channel, where you have to actually order the programming on an individual basis, HBO is part of my television dial accessable by anyone able to change channels on the remote, which makes it no different than Nickelodeon or CNN in the ease of access.
