Maps used to be up for a tour.  People complained.

Maps used to be up until reset.  People complained.

Maps get switched each Friday.  People complain.

Notice a common thread?

My 2 cents:  Just enjoy killing stuff.  Forget about the scenery and just enjoy blowing stuff up on the screen.

rant mode engaged

Let me get this right, It was changed due to many complaints and now many are complaining again about the same thing.

HT how does it feel to have 2000 + children

I want
I want
I should have

Is anyone here ever happy?

HT don't do anything that takes you away from TOD for one min. Please complete this task, so we will have a bunch of other things to demand.

Would someone post that link with the Irish guy saying something like "I want some of this and some of that, all of this and none of that" It would go so well here.

we can't really be running out of demands yet, that we need to repeat them

rant mode off ....shrugs and walks off

Small maps are great if you on the team with 220 people on it (like one side has right now tonight).  Otherwise your HQ strats and fields are continually porked and you are little more than a gang rape victim.  Great fun, I don't know why anyone would complain about that.

Players didn't pick this current method.

The complainers were complaining about how long to fly to a fight (you know the ones)  this had nuthin to do with it.  They still think they have too far to fly, always thought they had too far to fly, always will think they have too far to fly.

Yep....people complain :).

The small maps were designed with the expectation of a max number of 250 players. These days, we often have about 70% of that in one country. That is the problem with the small maps.

I was thinking map roatation like before,at end of war. but change on friday if large map is been up a week? so worst case would be large map 13 days at most? I myself find fighting same small map over and over boring fast atleast big map u may see different bases during next war.

100% agreed. Fighting the big maps that you hardly have time to win in a week is fun and the weekly rotation is good with large maps. i wish there was more maps like Trinity and Bigisle.

Fighting the small maps OVER AND OVER AND OVER again isnt fun.

maybe, if the small maps was played 3 times so counties rotate to play from all sides then reset to a new map? would that be possible?

1 week on a map
3 rotations.
whatever comes first...

Problem with this i see, as i dont think the map changes are automatic? Since Skuzzy has to come in a do it every time...hmm

I like the suggestion posted above about the altered rotation scheme. BUT I still think that having a single terrain up for one week is an good thing and allows to have squadrons who like to plan a few flights for one weeknight to be able to know what terrain is up in the arena when they will be on together.

Ok.

So how about changing the setup slightly so that when a map is reset it changes to the next one.

If the same map has been up for a week then auto change it on friday.  That will take out the "Trinity effect".

exactly same as i asked swoop. worst a large map would be up for is 13 days say it changed on a monday to trinity it would change for 2 fridays as first friday would be 5 days not week............

I love the small maps, they are the only ones that the suicide dweebers are kept in check on becuase there aren't enough fields around for them to send a plane 50 suicide run to an undefended field.  God forbid they actually have to beat back an enemy to take a base.  On Trinity and Pizza I spend all my time chasing around the lemming conga lines of suicide lamers who auger w/ in seconds of reaching a field, then if we get their goon they just pick the next undefended field to hit the same way.  The big maps are great if crashing into a hangar unopposed is your idea of fun, but it's just not my cup of tea.  Either way, it's my personal quest to stomp on all the suicide raids I can find.  Make more small maps I say, at least you can actually find a fight on one.

Death to pizza!  :D

they just trying to unload the servers , why change maps constantly and have everyone enjoying the changes when you can have 1/3 of the people pissed and not  log in for a week at a time because they hate the map and still keep their dollars for loggin in the other map weeks.

prolly not so , but it is a nice affect.

I agree with Grimm.

The small maps go way too fast and some players might not even see them. On peak nights, We've seen resets happen in less than 4 hours.

Also, it is nice to know what terrain you will be on when squad night starts. It makes it a little easier to pre-plan something if you know approximately where your fields will be.

Personally, I don't see why everyone complains so much about maps anyway. The gameplay is the same on all of them. The only exception is all the GV milkruns on pizza.

New maps come out and they are the best thing ever, until they have been up for more than 2 days. Just imagine how fediddleing bored all you would be back in WWII, flying over the same ground every day for months and months.

the thing i LIKE about this setup is that the bish day-gangers dont wipe out any of the smaller maps before the masses log on later in the evening---anyone notice that the ganging-fever seems to have subsided a bit since the new format?

my vote is leave current system -- the predecessor's method did leave on the same big maps for far too long. I also think more maps would help, so here's to the map maker guys :D .

Last days we hear players are boring.
I think that the reason, even if they dont realise it, is exactly the new map rotation.
With the old way we had a taste of change, we had a begining and an end.
It was a rotating. Now its static.
When you see again the same map, its
dissapointment.
Even in a map you was like it before, now
you just hate it just because you start
again from the begining.
Its a sense, like if you fight for nothing.
Its boring ;)
