Convergence question (for HTC is no one else can answer)
« on: July 29, 2003, 09:35:58 AM »
When setting convergence and 'layering' multiple guns, for example, in the 51D with 6 .50's, if I set my outer guns to the closest convergence relative to the other 4, the middle guns 25 years beyond the outer, and the inner guns 25 yards beyond the middle (farthest out), can my rounds bounce off eachother when they come into contact due to convergence settings?  Is this modeled?

Thanks.

EDIT:  is = if in title... yeah, Im a tard.

Setting convergance at multiple ranges affects the angle in the x and y position.  Basically, the scenario you described, the bullets wouldn't collide because they'd be at different elevations.

BUT... if you set all 6 guns to the same convergence, they would all meet and technically all ricochet off of each other.  I can't say I've seen this effect.

type  ".target xxx"  where xxx equals a convergence.  Fly due north, hit auto and fire.  Look at the target.

In a perfect world with perfect systems they would collide.  The real world is not perfect and HT programmed that to a greater or lesser extent.
