Hey Dowding,

Did you ever get some twinkies? I recall you were unfamiliar with them some time ago and interested in them.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I think Mathman had the best description of it in another thread.  Something to do with its absolute lack of any organic material and nutritional value, but still being edible.

They are a snack and an American icon.  :)

Heya Maverick. :) Sadly, no I didn't get my hands on any.

Unfortunately I have a massive hangover this morning, I've just got to my un-airconditioned office after listening to the weather report which says it is going to be scorching today. I cannot even think about food at the moment without feeling ill. :)

But then twinkies aren't food according to mathman's description...
War! Never been so much fun. War! Never been so much fun! Go to your brother, Kill him with your gun, Leave him lying in his uniform, Dying in the sun.

back in highschool science class they told us there is so many preservitives in a twinky that if you unwrapped one and set it on an unfinished oak table, the table would decompose before the twinky.

False. And the urban legend that twinkies stay fresh forever is also false. The shelf life of a twinkie is about a month.
