Your satus is judged by number of posts or replies you have written. The limits are set by UBB administrator.

To become member you just need to post enough, prefereably something interesting and on topic.

Or alternatively you can go and find me a shrubbery.

It's determined by the amount of posts you've placed on this board.  Once a certain number of posts have been placed your status goes to member.  The number?  100?

The magic number is 31 posts for member status.

If I post enough posts to become a MEMBER but forget to keep posting, will I lose my AEPP (Alter Ego Post Position) and have to start as a junior member again?

Sort of Wiz.  As you have surmised, Ronni has adopted the OAE-UBB.  If you should happen to be shot down in a flame war, your membership status gets reset to Junior, your old messages get erased and you have to change your handle.

On the other hand, if you survive for one month without getting shot down, you gain the ability to use words with more than three syllables.  Two months and you posts will be peppered with a prodigious propensity for alliteration.  If you can make it for 6 months, allusions to obscure 17th century Slovakian poems will automatically be added to your messages.  Way cool!!!

You want incentives to stay alive? You've got 'um.

Curly - it's a secret.  <nyuck><nyuck>

Rolo - I like the idea, but we're a little too busy now to implement that kind of thing.  Maybe after the beta ....
