I personally like the idea of starting on the field and climbing to 5k or the cruise altitude for a few reasons.
1- It gives the people who have not flown that plane time to set views.
2- That climb time is relatively short and gives people time to spread out from the single takeoff field, then reverse and close to fight.
3- The CM would be able to close flight once he is at cruise altitude. You take off late, possibly to save gas, you pay the price of starting lower. Late takeoffs would not be given time to get to cruise altitude.
