Editor Problems
« on: December 05, 2003, 04:57:17 PM »
I am trying out the editor to make a new practice arena, but I am having trouble getting it to run in the game.  I have created quite a few different maps but I can not create a proper airfield for some reason.  Could someone please help me or send me a small source of a arena so I can see what I need to include.

I have now got the ability to get in my plane, but it is not loading up my map.  It is loading some tri-point island map.  Also it crashes after about 1 min.

Creat a new folder inside your "mapname" folder and name it texsrc then put your clipboard map in it after converting it to 256 color (aka indexed color, 8 bit color).
To find out why it's crashing there's a button under the objects tab for error checking, some errors are harmless,  for instance you will always get a runway touches gridline error for every field, just make sure they dont cross a gridline or they will apear chopped off from some angles.

I created the texsrc dir and added the .bmp and now it creates a larger file. But it Still does not give me the correct field when I load it.  It also still fails after about a min.
