i was thinking how cool this would be. at the time they were planing to take over the mainland of japan but the japs give up before this could happen

why not have a late war mainland japan setup

this would be the US plane set

P51D can only take off from a backed up base because it was used mainly for escourt of the B29s

B17in for the B29
at the time the b29[]b17 was bombing mainland japan

F6F-5
from CV's only

FM2
can be used from CV's and on mainland japan

F4U-1D
could only be used on mainland japan

JAPAN planeset

A6M5b
from all bases

N1K2-J
can only be used from mainland bases

il let you setup everthing like shor battry

im just asking if a setup like this could ever be done

Prety much anything you could think up could be done given planeset limations and the will of the map maker to make it hapen. Prety Much by the time of the Invashion of japan, post Okinawa, or later than say Aug. of 45 all Japanese air assests would of Been on Japan, except those in Korea or Formosa/China/ or SE Asia, realy though even the planes in Korea, Northern ChHina were whiped out twhen the Soviets invaded, so you left with Just mainland Japan, and prety much the same plane set we have on Okinawa, except you want a P51 which is like almost 85-100mph faster than an A6M5.

i want the P51D there because it was used as a escourt for the bombers i was thinking it could only be used from the bomber bases

o yea forgot add all the japan bombers to the setup

I am shure somthing could be cooked up, but it would be a hypathotical scenario, and the map would nead to be done to creat a workable set up, noone will want to fly all the way from Okinawa in a P51 for example, to southern Japan.

well you would have to make a map that would not make the bomber and p51 trips not to long but not to short to have everbody flying p51s

or you could just perk the p51 but i think there is a better way to do it

but the main fighting would be the CV groups trying to get on the mainland of japan so almost all of them would be flying F6F-5's FM2'S

A good "what if" would be the invasion of formosa followed up by the invasion of mainland china. There was a real plan in place for this but it was changed in favor of landing at okinawa.
