Reschke it looks like stratigic locations of planes and fileds are fine. I cant speek for the 262 pilots but it takes thinking in order to land kills in the 163. Take out the fuel and the 163 sits in the hanger...or at least the pilot wont be flying long. The 163 burns 1/4 tank just getting airborn and a 1/4 take to zoom to safety after a fight and a 1/16 reserve for approach to land if I screw up on glide. Fuel burn lessens as speed increases....as well as altitude. Fuel management is a must on this map in order to be a threat to the allies. The 262 is toast if it gets slow. The strong ack keeps the vulchers away which is good for both sides. Jets wont vulch F4U-4s and F4U-4s wont vulch slow departing jets....cept maybe the 163 with it's vertical climb.
Down times are nice to. Once hard ack is down, it stays down for a while. VH goes down quick but only for 15 min. Captures are rather hard still with slow C-47 and long dist LTVs etc.
Bombers are still hard to kill even with 163. I have been killed 6 times by a B-17. However, in the F4U-1C I have killed the Ki-67 17 times and no deaths by the Ki-67. I have not been killed by an N1K2J at all. As a matter of fact, I have not been killed by any IJ aircraft in this set-up but I havent flown allied much with only 25 kills.
With the past set-ups I thought the allies would get slaugtered. Actually the allies have gained more ground with this set-up than with any other with the Okinawa map. I am not sure about fields A18 and A20 but the allies have captured feilds 11-16, 21, 29, 30, 34 and 35. 35 was recaptured by the axis.
A very tactful and political way to get the F4U-1C, F4U-4 and Me-163 into the plane-sets.
