Graphic and control question
« on: June 16, 2004, 09:22:57 AM »
1.   What range are gv's supposed to become visible?   I was at A36 last night in an f6f and a m16 had upped.   I was not able to see the gv until 1000 yrds.    This is the range the Icon info appeared.   Outside that range I could see the tracers but no gv.  Happens on all gv's at all graphic and video settings.  If not normal, any thoughts on how to correct it?

Settings last night.
p4 2.53g, 1 g ram, xp home, Gforce 4600 128 mb, latest drivers & dx,  sliders set 25% short of max detail, textures at 1, 512 size, the second highest resolution, max 60 fps, mipmap and all other boxes checked.

2.   Key board commands for rudder trim (A, S, D keys) do not seem to work for me.   I have a CH stick and throttle, with TM rudder pedals.   Buttons on the CH stuff are set up for other commands so I use the key board for rudder trim.   I have tried to re-map the keys but they still do not seem to work.   FWIW, the commands work fine in AH1.    Any thoughts on what to try?

Ah.. but what height did you have the ground clutter set to shut off.  If you can't see trees, you can't see gv's.  Need to hit shift "F1" for max range on gv spotting.  However, having said this, I have yet to see a gv icon reading over 1.5k.

The keys A, S, and D are used to control the rudder if you don't have pedals/twisty stick etc.

The trim keys for the rudder are J and L.

I believe that GV range icons to airplanes has always been 1.5k.
