My 20 year high school reunion is coming up and I administer our class web site.  I made this map showing where the 254 folks that we have found now live.  Each red dot represents where at least one person lives.  The dot in Anchorage represents 111 people.  The other 143 “found” people have really spread out, except that a lot of my classmates ended up near Seattle, Oregon and the California population centers.  133 of my classmates are still “missing” and 4 are deceased.

I met a retired US soldier who used to live in Alaska and who stayed at Germany after he got out from the army after 25y because of crippled foot.
He told me about the weather up there and maybe because of that I'm not surprised your classmates went down to those "48 lower states" :)

I noticed one of them lives near Wichita Falls, Texas home of the "Hotter Than Hell" 100 bike race. Did he have a serious head injury?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Being from Finland, I think that you probably have a good understanding of what Alaska weather can be like.  Anchorage isn’t as bad as much of the state, but it sure drove me out!
