Try it once eh?

Pull it in to 300, and shoot at 300.

586 yards is one third of a mile. You really think you can shoot accurately at that range and BEYOND?

Your trying to use the shotgun effect, and for large targets, to a certain point it will work. But its NOT going to work on small targets like acks.

rgr, so for ack targets ill have to set it to 300 but any other time ill leave it at 650 and 625, pain in the butt, cause i never know what ill have to take out when i get to a base.. think ill just leave where it is and keep killing planes and leave the ack to my rockets:D

ps butt i will try it once just for this post's sake to see if it works, butt im not gonna fly around with my conv set that low, dont feel that comfortable getting that close to the tail of your bombers skull;)

I'd suggest trying it out with the convergence set closer all around. Given bullet dispersal, you're not getting the most efficient use out of your guns by taking those long range shots. You might be surprised at how Brutal the 6x.50 gunset can be at medium range when convergence matches firing range.

so your saying that i have a good chance of still hitting targets at 4-5-and 600 with my guns set at 300?

Of course, my hit % has sucked for the past year so I should probably just shut up. :p

I'd be willing to bet that no matter WHO was pulling the trigger. That the # of rounds on target at 300 yards would be exponentially larger than same situation at 600 or 650.

Like 15x as many.

Besides, buffs are not that hard, secret is high 9/3 passes and no straight angles. Make your flight path CURVE to his point of view so he constantly has to track.

Its when your straight & steady that they can kill you easy.

yeah thats another thing that makes me set my conv so high is the current icon range, wish we could go back to knowing exact distance instead of 300+ or -... because what? it goes from 300 to 600 in your icon range right? so the plane that your chaseing could be at 599 and it would still only say 300+ or -, until he gets 600 from you right?

Or you can try getting in closer so it won't matter what range is set.

In the 51 you are BnZ'ing anyways right? .. or we hope you are.  The thing is when you set your range at 650 - that means to properly hit the target you should be firing when the range indicator says 800 - correct?  Put all guns in a spread around 300-400.

Get in just a little closer, one nice bursts - or a couple - will take down the target real fast.  When you are closer you can also concentrate on certain parts of the plane.  Such as a wing, tail, whatever so you have a better chance than just throwing shots out at 650 hoping they hit the plane - bad idea.

looking at those pictures, my b17s can't even take one round of a 262 without falling from the sky. One thing I noticed about the photgraphed  b17s  getting hit with the 262 ammo - they're one the ground.

So you're saying there's a chance.....

lol :)

Waffle go to the link i have post there.....
you will see that buffs was surviving worst hits than that of 262s.
Straight hits from 88s lets say ;)
But what we see are them who have return.
Imagine them who have not !
The photos show that you had a possibility to come back home
with what ever could hit you up there, But How Many was that
posibilities ? How many have go down for the one who have return ?from 88s? from 30mm ? from 20mm ?
