Spitfire Riveting?
« on: August 02, 2004, 06:56:08 PM »
I was wondering after doing 3 spitfire skins, and after the comment made by Cobra412, if anyone has any pictures showing off the riveting of a spitfire.  I can find it in some places, but most pictures I see are full body spit pics and dont show much panel line and rivet detailing.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

while the il2 skin voids are a good point to start they are by no means accurate..
a good source for the spit is a book called"spitfire a flying legend"
it has many many full a4 size photographs of all mks of spit.
for a start the nose the leading edge and the tail are wrong in the il 2 void. but if you are going for effect rather than meticulas detail go ahead and use it. my advice would be to use very little of the rivits or make them very transperent

What im going to do is make them very light, but the rivets that were more exposed, as pointed out by Cobra412 in another thread, is leave them darker so that it looks more realistic.
