« on: July 22, 2004, 05:44:23 PM »
Since version 6 I have been getting crashes to a black screen that is only endable by reset...  these seem to come anywhere from 3 - 15 mins into the game...

Am running a:

NVidia GeForce 4 ti4600 w/ 128 meg ram
Win XP
Athalon XP 1800+ 1.15 Ghz
512meg ram

Never had these problems until recently....
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

Nothing like a hot August night to strain everyone's cooling systems.

Actually I'm not so sure bout this.
I used to get same prob with ATI 9800 - screen black, game continues for about 30 secs then crashes back to BIOS.
Took a screenie of an error message one time which showed game was attempting to write to the AGP/PCI bus restricted memory space.
Using omega drivers can be fixed by using program files/advanced smartgart options and turning OFF AGP writes, leave reads ON.
These are only for error checking anyway.
Since doing this I have not had one black screen.
