Bail was set at $200,000 for a 16-year-old accused of murdering a popular high school football coach in Benton City, Washington.

Prosecutors say the murder was committed by 14-year-old Jordan E. Castillo as part of a gang initiation. They allege that Suarez was the one that "jumped in" Castillo or, in layman's terms, was Castillo's sponsor in the gang.

Mr. Castillo did have tattooing on the web of his hand the very next day after the homicide. That tattoo is consistent with the gang he was being initiated into," said Benton County Sheriff Larry Taylor.

Also in the courtroom today was Candy Suarez, the 13-year-old sister of Robert. "If anybody knew my brother as I know him -- as my friends know him, they would know he has a really big heart, not capable of anything like this," she said.

Every member of any gang that requires murder for membership should be held responsible for any and every murder committed to gain entry. Why do we allow this type of behavior? Where have justice and decency fled?

Interesting it only says the two were tried for the murder and not any of the others, who basically ordered the murder...?

it doesn't say they used a gun so..  probly not... if a gun was used then that would be the main theme.... "gun murders another victim".

The kid should have thought twice before joining a gang. He could have joined band, a sport, a club.

Oh well, hes a waste of space, I say they should just off him when he doesn't expect it.

Where are the charges against the entire gang for Conspiracy to commit murder and accessory before and after the fact?

I say Death is the only sentence....Gang members should be jailed just for having a gang tatto or any kind of gang markings or paraphanilia...Make it a felony

How many members were in this gang?  If murder was a requirement for membership, then did all of the gangmembers commit murder or did they just make the rule up to try and keep the kid out?
