Hey Gents -

Has anyone built a rotisserie for their car restoration project?  I've found plans on the internet for different variations, but was curious what others have done.  Pics/Plans are wonderful if you have them...  Thanks!!!

Those are sweet..best way to do a car if your doing the work yourself.  Theres a guy next door that referbs boats and he has a rig that he uses to flip the smaller boats over to make it eazyer for him to do hull work.

I KNEW this was gonna happen!!!  

Its a framework that allow you to take the body shell of the frame of a car (pre-unibody cars) and rotate the body 360° so you can get to the underside without getting under the car.

However, a BBQ that large could probably do a whole cow in one shot....  Hmmmmmm BBQ...

I would LOVE to have a rotisserie for my Cougars.  The fact that you're considering building one means that you have way more room for your project than I have for mine which is making me insanely jealous and positive that you have a lift in there as well which just isn't fair so I'll have to keep my perfect rotisserie plans to myself.    How's that for a run-on sentence?

Frame you can bolt your car's bodywork from front and rear and then turn the car on its side if you need to work with floor.
I've seen them in use but guess they're usually made from scratch by using common sense and 20m of steel tube.

Whew, with a sentence like that, your english teacher should be fired!!!

Well, I don't have as much space as I want.  22x30 shop with 14' ceilings and have a 200 sq ft loft on one end.  I don't have a lift but sure would like one  I can buy a lot of nice tools for 2 grand

600 sq ft of working space sounds like a lot, but once you get all the benches, tools, and the car in there, it gets used up in a hurry.

Wish i knew you needed pics of a rotisserie a few months ago ..
 Our is on loan at the moment and we probly wont get it back for awhile.

they are fairly simple to construct though .

you do need 3-4 guys around to flip the car though ...and always weld in interior support .


i would suggest a lift 1st though .. the 2 side post ones can be found used for around 600 or so . i my self perfur the 4 post drive on racks (they can double as a jig )
