Found a cool sound
« on: February 02, 2005, 09:43:24 PM »
I recently loaded new sounds, a mix iko made up of the best sounds from a couple guys in here, and realized I had never used WIND before. After trying it up loud, I didnt like the noise much. I thought "Wouldnt it be cool if I could find a cool Hollywood style WW2 plane in a dive sound?"  Well I did. I made it my new wind sound, and now when I get over 300 or so in the F4uC it kicks in that classic sound we all know and love.

lol, could be.  I'm trying to access the site from work, and the pc nazis here filter certain types of sites: porn, weapons, violence, etc...

Is this a weapons site? If so, that's why I can't open it from work.

That, and the fact I'm not worthy.:(

i used the for a while...

dont make it your default sound or the jet planes will have it too LOL

well you can make it default, but put a normal wind sound in the 262 / 163 folders.
I don't know what to put here yet.

I prefer the scream over the wind sounds...some planes it sounds better in than others. The F4u it sounds kinda deep roar, where the spit has more high pitch for some reason.

Im using a mix of Waffle, default and another guys.

The only draw back so far is if you stay fast longer than the sound wav lasts, it repeats itself, and seems a bit awkward. I wonder if there is a way to hack it up and make it last longer.

PS I had to rename each planes wind noise to (windold) or it would blend with main wind noise.

I have a true F4U Corsair wind sound in my "F4U Corsair" Pack. It's mixed with a wind effect... Sounds great when you're diving.
