Time to make a change?
« on: February 04, 2005, 03:39:36 AM »
Hi Folks,

im playing "the other" online sim since a fwe years. Now the European Server (mostly used by german players) is far from a successfull platform cause in the prime there are about 15 players online if you lucky. That not enough tio get some fun.

What about Aces High. How Many Players are online at 20:00 MEZ ?

Hello Tomkin,

depending on the day we have 200+ at 20:00.

Been flying Aces High since early beta days, never liked that other sim too much :p

We also have many german players jumping around here.

If you are joining look out for 9.JG54 we mixed by Country with a majority of germans ;).

There several other german squads too, especially flying Knights.

greets

Hey man.

I fly EU times as well. At 6pm CET you usually have 120-150ish players, at 8pm you usually have 200ish, at 10pm closer to 300, at midnight above 300.

US peak is somewhere around 400-500.

This last sunday there was 600+ players when I logged at 1am.

Personally though I like to play around 6pm CET I really like the lower numbers. When its over 300-400 the battles get a bit to big for my taste. With the 150-170 online numbers you have to look a bit but you find really nice smaller fights with like 3, 4, 5 pilots per side.

Tex

Hi,

I installed AH2 so far, Stick and Keyssettings are different, but o.K., im no to old to learn.

There is one thing that drivers me crazy. I calibrated the Joystick, i was able to calibrate the stick in AH2 and made settings . But i cant put the Throttle to 100% even with the Throttle Slider of the Joystik neither wit the Keys! Whats wrong wit it? The Instruments always show something of the half range of RPM!

One more Question: When i shoot down one of the drones offline i hear some ugly Sounds like something hitting an empty oil barrel. Is that the debris of the destroyd enemy plane ?

email Skuzzy at support@hitechcreations.com regarding your technical issue.

and, yes...that's the debris that is hitting your plane.  don't worry...it won't do any damage unless it's a huge piece, like a tail or wing.  :D

btw, look for Waffle's soundpack in the sound forum.  makes the game 1,000 times better.

welcome to AH.

Gauges show physical units, not 0-100% like over there, so if it doesn't go to max it's probably still correct ;) If you can activate WEP you're at max.

Tomkin, you can check the joysticks range of motion unter clipboard->setup->joysstick->settings

go there and check out of the indicator for the throttle moves all the way up and down, if yes everything is OK

What plane do you get what reading?

Notmally the rpm and man gauges read somewhere in the middle cause they display the value and never go to full, if that is what you mean.

If you pull up the clipboard and hit E6b you see the numbers your plane is expected to get... where emergency power is with "WEP" extra power you get by hitting the key "P" when full throttle.

That should make your rpms and/or MAP reading jump up a little. If it does you were at military power before.
