Game crashes on loading
« on: October 01, 2006, 01:49:03 PM »
So I just got this new system and as soon as the game loads up it crashes.  Now I'm not a computer wiz but I can tell you that I'm running a duel core Pentium D 820.  I know duel cores can cause issues with the game but all fixes involved seem to be with AMD not Intel.  This thing is also running off a graphics chip, but my previous system from 2 years ago ran AHII just fine and it was using a chip too with only 1/4 the memory this one has.  Any thoughts?

More info would be helpful...

Click on Start - run - type dxdiag and press enter. Save all information and then just post about the first 2 pages of the results.

If it is an Intel video chip, then go into the game's "Video Settings", and adjust the "Maximum Texture Size" to 256.

If it is an Intel mobile video chip, it will not work at all.

I've yet to be able to run the game @ all.
I'm receiving a white screen & then a pop-up Box stating that an Error has taken place & the program must shut down & this is just when I attempt to start the Practice portion of the program.

Here's the DxDiag you usually ask for, thank'ee for your time & consideration.

Flashman, in the game's "Video Settings", at the startup, set the "Maximum Texture Size" to 256.  If that does not get the game going, then you need to upgrade the video chip driver (http://www.intel.com).

I was having the same problem when i started up. I have a new Dell Inspiron Dual Core with the Intel mobile chip and it works fine when you set it to 256. So the Intel Mobile Chip will work. Thank you for the 256 setting thats what got mine to work.  :D  :aok
