Flight Controls? FM?
« on: March 01, 2005, 05:30:42 AM »
This morning I noticed something strange.

Flyin without CT.  Don't care for how it affects 109's and p38's.  Been flyin with CT off almost always since I started flyin in AH.

Anyways, in on a con and my planes nose is pushing left????????  And it keeps getting worse the more I try to compensate with rudder input???????

NOT COMPRESSED!  Only doin just under 400 on the deck in a 109g10.

Hit auto level and planes takes for ever to get outa what seems like FULL left rudder trim.

Where did this hugh amount of left rudder trim come from????????

I did not apply any trim?  I was flyin straight and level on auto just before I engaged.

Got tired of waiting on auto and hit combat trim and it smoothed right out.  But now when I make a manuver the plane starts floppin all over the place????????

Using a Saitek X45 here and calibrated it 4 times now.  No difference.

Any suggestion?

NOTE: another player was complaining of constant control lock up.  AND from what I saw typed in the MA I'm not the only one having this strange trim problem.

Controls seemd to work fiine right up to this morning????????  2-28-2005

Any ideas?????

OOPS

System spec.

MB Asus A7V8X-X

CPU amd 2500+xp barton

Sound SBPCI512

Vid ATI9800 PRO 128

Flight Controls Saitek X45 USB

Memory 512

OS  W98SE

DirectX 9c

Modem USRobotics 5686e (external to com1)

Hmmm.....

Did install a new network card 3 days ago.  But that was 3 days ago and no problems until 2-28-2005.

Hmmm thinkin about it I've almost always noticed a slight push to the left in all planes ever since I started flying in AH.  That was even back in AH1.  Would set it on auto and nose on a base and when I looked was amost always slightly off to the left after maybe 5 minutes?  Let it continue for 10 minutes and it seemed it was even further off???  It happened with my CHPro stuff and the Saitek X45

Note I have replaced my HD and reinstalled my OS at least twice since then.

Hey Wrag,
have same stick,i've encountered same effect once before.
Re-cal. under windows,restart system.double check.Fire up Ah,Calibrate it there as well.Thats what i did,Problem hasn't resurfaced in close to a year now.
I'm sure there's more than one fix for this :)

Its very pronounced in the 109s, I've always assumed it was torque modelling.  Try taking it straight up like you are roping someone, and then try to roll out to the right.  The slower you are, the more rudder you need to make it happen.  If you were to realize you were too slow and try to go nose down, its almost impossible to drop the nose to the right in a 109.  It will only go left without significant effort.  Chopping the throttle (making it similar to a Hammerhead say) makes it easier but its still not as easy as to the left.  Even turns to the right are rougher and take more control input to keep steady than turns to the left.
