Version 1.07 is available to download from our download page or the autoupdater.  The download size is an unusually large 9MB because of some extensive changes.

Aces High 1.07 Readme

Added the Il-2, Ki-61, P-47D-11, LVT(A)2, and LVT(A)4.

Force Feedback support has now been implemented in Aces High.  Click the Setup button and Force Feedback button to enable and/or disable forces.

The following settings will now save when you exit Aces High:
View detail mode (Shift-F1, Shift-F2, Shift-F3)
Ground clutter
Squad highlight
Info toggle (Ctrl-I)

New radio channel for missions.  When in a mission, channel 5 allows broadcasts to all mission participants.

New dot command ".showjoin" works as a toggle to show join requests in pop-up boxes or in the message bar.  If the requests are shown in the message bar, the user must use ".accept GameID" to accept a gunner.  A text description is sent to the user's message bar each time ".showjoin" is entered to show which way join requests will appear.

"Join" button in the Hangar brings up a list of players that may be joined.

The ".unjoin" command no longer needs a GameID parameter.

The Roster now displays the total number of fields owned by each country along with the total players in each country.

"Goto" button in the Roster will move you to the same field as the player highlighted in the Roster list.  You may only move to fields in your country.

Default radio settings have been set to:
   Online:  Radio 1 tuned to channel 2 (country channel), all others tuned to channel 1
   Offline: All radios are tuned to channel 1

Shift-Z key has been added to set default zoom based on current view mode.  This key will have to be mapped using the Key Mapping utility.

In the main arena, vehicles and boats will no longer have external view mode. Bombers and field gunners will have external view mode.  In offline or H2H play, this can be changed in the Arena Settings view mode flags.

A new Gunsight selector makes it easy to assign custom gunsight bitmap files to different aircraft, vehicles, boats and field gunner positions.  Click on Setup on the clipboard, then on the Gunsights button to use the Gunsight selector.

Ctrl-E key will select all engines without starting or stopping any of them.  This key will have to be mapped using the Key Mapping utility.

The key mapper and stick mapper utilities will now present a warning message if you are attempting to re-assign a key.

Vehicles now emit smoke if their guns or engines are damaged.

Custom colors can now be configured for icon and map display for friendlies, enemies, wingmen, squad mates and mission participants.  Customize colors by clicking on Setup, then Colors on the clipboard.

Chutes will no longer show up in sector counters.

Two new radar mode flags have been added to show only planes in sector counters and to remove planes below radar from sector counters.  These are configurable offline, in H2H mode, and for CM's in SE arenas.  

New gunnery modes have been added for the guns with range sighting.  Default keys are key "Q" for direct mode, key "W" for land mode and key "E" for sea mode.  These keys will have to be mapped using the Key Mapping utility.
   Direct mode - player controls gun completely.
   Land mode - gun will shoot to the selected point regardless of the ship's movement.  
   Sea mode - gun will shoot to a point relative to the movement of your ship.

Added an enemy indicator when planes are outside the map.

Panzer and Ostwind hull machine-guns are now manned positions instead of driver controlled.

The MG on the commander's cuppola on the Panzer now rotates through about 270 degrees.

Bomb capability has been added to the La-5 and La-7.

The gunner positions are now labeled and the numbers now correspond to the keypress you use to jump to that position. The position you are currently in shows in white and positions that have been damaged are shown in red.

Added Message of the Day capability for H2H hosts.  motd.h2h is the file name that you must have in the ../HTC/Aces High/ directory.  Make sure this is a text only file and not a Word document.

Changed the Arena Selection menu to no longer display "Closed" on the alternate route to the Main Arena.

The 8" guns on the CA's and the shore batteries along with the machine guns on the vehicles now have a dispersion effect.

Changed the muzzle flashes for rifle caliber machine-guns.

Scrolling bug fixed in the field list on the Strat display.

Fixed problems with logged gunner data for CM logging.

Driver wounded in vehicles now has same affect as pilot wounded in airplanes.

Damaged or destroyed objects in H2H now show as damaged or destroyed for players entering the arena.

Fixed a bug in awarding proximity kills.

Landing gear lights in the cockpit should now represent actual landing gear status.

All gunners are now automatically unjoined at the end of a sortie.

Acks now take less damage to kill.

Fighter or Attack scoring buttons in the hangar are now saved by plane type based on the last sortie flown.

Fixed a bug where flak was killing slow and straight airplanes instantly.

"Ghost dot" on the ground bug should be fixed.

"Ghost planes" in the air will now disappear after ten seconds without any update information.

Fixed mission editor to launch remaining flights in a mission if one flight is disabled.

Fixed the tailhook on the Seafire.

Tempest gun firing point has been moved to the correct position.

Fixed abnormalities in the TAS gauge on about half of the aircraft.

Fixed the blue haze in the shadow line of the cloud layers.

Fixed wingtip damage bug that was affecting some bombers.

A6M5 can now be flown for attack missions.

Ar 234 and Ju 88 engines now display smoke from the correct points.

Fixed typos in the two Yak damage lists.

Changed the roll rate on the Typhoon.

Changed the way outer wing damage is displayed on the 3D plane models.

Increased the size of the rearm pads.

Changed the layouts of the airfields.

Added manned gunner positions to airfields, both anti-aircraft emplacements and coastal defense fortresses.  This works the same as ship gunners.

Implemented a new more comprehensive vehicle armor model.  Armor penetration varies with striking angle and ricochets are visible on tracer rounds when penetration is not achieved.

Added a new ground clutter for the beaches.

Changed the video setup menu.  The z-buffer and disable triple buffering are gone from the menu.  Those options can still be set directly in the video.cfg file in your settings directory.  Two frame rate caps have been added.  If you are running an extremely high framerate and experiencing any video irregularities, please try this option.
