She was called the  "blue tail". To add more planes to the Korean war, the Navy took two crashed F9s and made one, the tail was from one sitting in a junkyard. That the story that was given to me, it's supposed to be real, but don't quote me.

The USS Princeton had a junkyard onboard? ;)

Lt R. Clinite was hit by Commie flak in the tail area. Ens. W. Wilds Jr brought back a heavily damaged a/c to the Princeton. The tail from Wilds a/c was put on Clinite's a/c. The a/c then flew another 12 missions before being returned to the USA.

The Squadron/Signal InAction book on the F9F has a photo and it is sure not as beat up looking as the model.

ps.

Should add that it was no big deal to replace the tail as it was normally removable when doing engine changes.

Nukes right. But he should have said
Grab her by the hair, pull her in close, give her a big forcefull kiss then let her go, Smile, then leave her to walk inside and open the door herself.

With women like that its a sort of mating ritual.
They are basically closet submissives. Strong, confident and assertive to the outside world but really with the strong desire to have their men take them. Provided she can find one with the balls and confidence to do so.

You failed her test.  So unless you didnt find her the least bit attractive you should be kicking yourself for not responding in the proper manner
