Okay im trying to import an avi film into windows movie maker, and this is the error im getting. Im saving as full frames uncompressed. C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II\films\film13.avi could not be imported. The selected file is not valid or is corrupted.

The avi is most likely busted up. It didnt record properly most likely.

If I may offer a bit of advise... Dont use the film viewer to get your avi's. Use a stand alone recording program such as fraps that records what you see on the film viewer while its playing.

Go to http://www.fraps.com. They have a trial version and its free. You can record short clips up to 30 seconds long. If you want to record anything longer than that you must purchase fraps for I think around 30 bucks. Chump change for such a handy little program.

I'm not skuzzy, he might tell you something different.

But if you want quality, ease of use, and an idiot proof way of making films, thats the best way to start your projects.

Fraps isn't editing software. It only records in avi format. Once you get your Avi's together you can then import them into any one of the film editors you have... Windows movie maker or what have you.

Jet, Morpheus is bang on with that advice.

The only thing I could add would be to use the film viewer to split your films up into clips under 30 seconds long.

You can put together a whole lot of clips  to choose from to create your scenes.

I have been messing around a bit with making movies again. Fraps seems to work pretty well.

cheers,

When you export a film to AVI in the film editor, try using another CODEC.  You can always save the AVI in uncompressed (RAW) format from the film editing program.

Then you are doing something wrong. Or your system may be reaching its limits as far as running multiple programs.

Also.
Make sure you are recording at 30frps.

DO NOT try to play your recorded in media player with the AH film viewer open and or running.

I see that you posted your movie... So you must have gotten it to work. I figured I'd tell you anyways.
