How about some training missions where new pilots are taught how to fly and fight? Trial and error along with gleaning forums and chat just to get the basics is time consuming and frustrating. A course covering the basics for n00bs would help a lot.
1. Aerodynamics. Lift, Weight, Thrust and Drag.
2. Taking off. Torque, tailplane effect and rudder.
3. Angle of Attack. Slow Flight. Climbs, dives and controlled descent Power and airspeed.
4. Landing. Airspeed, flaps, landing pattern, approach and flare.
5. High speed turns. Bank and Yank. G's and bleeding airspeed. (Energy management)
6. Out of plane maneuvering. Split S, Immelman, yo yos.
7. Extending.
8. Tracking. Lag and lead turns. Overshoots. Scissors.
9. Firing solutions. Rear, deflection, snapshot.
10. Graduation. Engage and shoot down fellow student pilot.
A course covering these skills could be completed in a matter of days. A similar course could be put together for the budding bomber pilot.
Along with training course, a n00b squad for pilots with less than 30 days would give n00bs a home and place to learn with their fellow green aviators.
