Make no mistake about it.  Being on top of this is not what we want to do nor will we continue doing it for long.

The community will make or break this forum.  There is no amount of moderation which will keep it alive.

Do not thank me for something that should not have to be done.

Sadly, I think there are several here who will do whatever they can to kill the place. Some I'm surprised at, others I'm not at all surprised at.

I thank you for your efforts to save something for people who would really like to have something here, despite the best efforts of those who want to ruin it for everyone. Frankly, I don't hold out too much hope, but then I've always been sort of a pessimist and a cynic.

After some experience moderating some forums with people from all over the world - I can say that I'll try it again only if it will bring me enough money for living, I mean - some bread, butter and caviar. And the forum I moderated had absolutely no rules like offencive language or political correctness... :(

Let me get this straight Borada.  You want to get paid to moderate a forum which does not need to be moderated as it has no rules?  Heck,..sign me up too when you find that!

The problem was that I had to "rule-out" some conflicts between our development team and users. And that could probably result in conflicts inside dev team. I hope you understand where it happened. Finally I was opposed by some professional provocators, who tried to deliberately ruin our team, mostly because I used Patton's "he's our SOB" principle. So - I quit.

I tried to use military subordination rules, as the most pragmatic and formalised. I really like them in real life, understanding them saves your brain cells and in some extreme cases (that I unfortunately experienced more then once) - human lives. In moderation and forum regulations democracy is the worst thing you can imagine. But using trusted "totalitarian" methods not backed up by strict disciplinary methods, like in FidoNet, is impossible :(

After understanding this I never try to re-appear at some forums where I was banned (like AGW in it's 3 reincarnations) as "virtual alter-ego". Partisan warfare isn't for me.
