[NOTE]:
That picture appears to be a setup photo, or one from outside of the United States.

The snake looks like a rattlesnake unless you look at its face, then it is clearly identifiable as a constrictor.  Once you notice that you can see that the neck is too thick and the scales too flat.  It appears to be a python of some sort, but it could be a boa.  Its a non-poisonous snake that would probably make about as good a pet as a snake can (not very, IMHO), if it isn't already.
