Audigy 2 value vs Audigy 2 ZS OEM
« on: July 26, 2005, 03:52:27 PM »
Anyone know the differences between these two soundcards? I want to get one, but I'm not sure what the differences are (if any). One is $40 (value) the other is $70 (ZS).

If I had to guess, I'd say the "retail" ($70) comes with some packaged software the OEM version doesn't have.  Probably some stupid game.

The Value is missing the FireWire port, doesn't have a Midi/Joystick port, and has  1024 Voices compared to the ZS's 64. Whatever that means.

I beleive the "Value" card is a repackaged SB Live! card.  I know Creative has repackaged the SBLive! cards and badged them with an "Audigy 2" label, but I am not sure if the "Value" card is it.

All the "ZS" cards, to myknowledge, are real Audigy 2 cards.

The ZS Audigy 2 card is also smaller in length, by about 5 or 6 mm. This probably doesn't matter to you unless you have a SFF (small form factor) case and every mm counts.

Why? It's a place to buy either of the cards.
