Lavochkin flaps were operated quite differently to AH.
In AH we press a button (how ever fleetingly) that moves them to the next "notch".
In a Lavochkin a valve was opened and closed such that the adjustment was such that they could be set anywhere between fully up and fully down .
This would be the same as them moving only when the button was pressed.
