Believe it or not I believe in personal responsibility; you can't have have rights without them. I also believe that most people don't use abortion as a form of post-coital contraception. To use the rape situation as an argument for abortion, is as valid as using the 'abuse' of abortion as an argument against it. Both are extremes and I don't really believe they happen that much, compared to the bigger picture.
I don't really want to discuss the possibility of your wife getting raped, it's an horrific prospect and a little too personal. However, how do you decide when abortion is murder and when it is justified? Surely murder is murder, i.e. 'black is black, white is white'?
The irony here is that you believe people should have the freedom to carry guns, to have a choice (against the wishes of people who would outlaw them based on their values), yet you would like to refuse that same choice in terms of abortion, based on your values.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
