Many people including myself have had this problem...

When flying in a p47, any, p47 it is amazingly easy to get your main tank on fire, or hit.

Now, i realize that you do only have one tank, but if you only have one take couldnt u make it a little harder to hit?

Just the other day i flew through ack and in one day had my main tank hit 3 different times on first pass and was only hit 2 times from ack. Might just be bad luck. An m3 also set my main tank on fire with one ping from 1k out

Dont know how u want to take this htc, but please take a look at this, its just way to easy for ack to hit 47 main, (and only tank) of fuel....

Careful though Schutt, while the P47N does have more than one tank it typically runs down to only the MAIN tank pretty quickly.  The MAIN has 270 gallons vs. only 180 in the wings and 100 in the AUX.  At 50% internal you only end up with 5 gallons in the wings, only with 75% is any significant amount carried in those wing tanks.  ONly 100% internal even touches the AUX tank.

Main Tank hits are fairly common in almost anything but I've never had the impression the P-47's are any worse than anything else.  I don't know that I can remember the last time I had one burn from a MAIN fuel hit.
