I Want somebody to put the PHANTOM EDIT on DVD!
The PHANTOM EDIT is a professionally done re-edited version of E1 that pretty much takes out Jar-Jar, much useless Anakin dialogue, the stupid Planet Core Giant fish sequence and changes a few other things. Basically all who have seen it say this 20 minute shorter version is a much better film. Rumor has it the edit was done by big Star Wars fan and movie director Kevin Smith. Apparently the edit is seamless. Unfortunatly its only on a few VHS tapes and is almost impossible to get, since any selling of it would violate copyright and piss off Lucas and his lawyers really bad.
