yep... been shooting at stuff for a lot of years and there really is a difference.... If you gotta go through stuff.... you use a  308 or ought six not a .223...

You use a .357 mag only if you can't get ahold of a 44 mag..

you use slugs or double ought in your shotguns.

the old rounds like the 45-70 will do at 25 yards what the elephant guns will do at 400... they are still one nasty round..

a 45-100 will go through both sides of car (two doors two door panels and maybe a seat and a door lock or two.

if you want to shoot off a lock you shoot down from the top... the impact from anything more potent than a 357 mag will tear the hook out of the lock...

if they don't stop when hit in the chest move up to the head and if that doesn't stop em start on the legs and then  the hands and feet and neck.

a 45 will usually expend all of it's energy in the target.
