Bush might be the unlucky one
« on: December 23, 2000, 11:50:00 PM »
I have a funny feeling the economy is due for a slowdown.  If this happens, Bush will get the blame (though it is no fault of his own, just the nature of the economy).

Ever since the start of this election, I have suspected the winner will really be the "looser".   Anyone agree?

Personally I've never bought the argument, by either party, that they are responsible for the good time and the other guys are responsible for the bad times.  I think the economy is mostly separate from political effects.

But you are right, the public does blame which ever party has the White House during a slow down or crash in the economy.  Just look at Hoover, Carter and Bush Sr.

We are currently in the middle of the Clinton-Gore recession now!!!  We have no energy policy, the government has attacked the High-tech industry(MS breakup)and the markets are falling.  This administration has done more to harm then they ever did to help!!
