Fuel loadout change

What about changing fuel loadout so instead of choosing among : 25% 50% 75% 100%

we have 10,15,20,25  minutes or : 1 Sector ,2  Sectors ,3 Sectors, 4  Sectors ?

Because that's a relative setting.

Gas % is absolute. Time in flight depends greatly on cruise, wep, climb, alt, destination, uphill or downhill, fuel burn multiplier, and so forth.

Just check E6B the second you take off, you'll know how much time you've got.

We tried to argue for something like this before straffo when we wanted fuel rationed by litres/engine and not %.

We failed...............


btw gas % is also relative............ litres or gallons are the only absolute.

Negative tilt. Liters and gallons tell you nothing. So you have... say, 300 gallons. What the hell does that mean?!?! How many GPH does any given engine consume??? With 70+ planes in AH it's impossible to memorize GPH for every engine let alone normal, cruise, and max cruise for all engines.

% is absolute. [By this I mean you know for sure what you've got.]  Your plane ONLY holds X gallons. You cannot load more gas than fits in the tanks. 50% means you have half your gas. 50 gallons means.. um.. ***** did my plane carry a total of 100 or 150 gallons, I can't remember!!! (see my point?).

% lets you know exactly where you stand in relation to empty and full before you take off.
