any luck getting Saitek repair parts?
« on: December 21, 2005, 09:39:21 PM »
My Saitek Cyborg Evo Force is down, I have one gear stripped and one broken. Has anyone had any luck getting repair parts from them? I love the stick, I can fix it easily, I'd like to fix it myself quickly. If I can get parts, I can do it myself, quick and easy.

I used these guys to order parts for my X45.

I replaced the tact switches for my hats with some of higher quality. I have not had a problem with my hat switches dying since. You will just need to search for the part. Let me know what your looking for maybe I can help in your research. :aok

My stick is force feedback, it has a series of gears between the stick and the motors. There is a crescent style gear that attaches to the ball that rotates in the stick for the X and Y axis with two small phillips screws, and there is an intermediate spur gear (it has a small diameter gear stacked on top of a large diameter gear for gear reduction) that mounts to the metal frame that holds both motors. They are mechanical parts with no electronics on them.

Sorry, cant help with the mechanical parts. I can say that I have tried to go through Saitek before to get parts. They are absolutely no help whatsoever. I used email and phone. I spoke to the repair department managment even. The only way they would help me is if I sent my stick in for repair and paid them to do it. No parts lists or IPB would they give me, nor sell me any replancemnt parts. I had to research and find the parts myself(electronic parts).

Saitek does have a forum that may be of help. Hope it works out for you!
