Everquest Question
« on: December 29, 2001, 10:37:00 AM »
I got this game given to me the other day.  Am wondering firstly how I test it out, seems only available online or something.  Secondly after installing I had to download god knows how much more in patches and then it asks me to register with credit card?

Is this game playable offline?  Is it really even a multiplayer game or a scam?  Is it worth playing / paying for?

I'm kinda concerned because I've recently had money stolen via my credit card over the internet when I supplied it to a what looked like legitimate site.

it's an on-line only game. 10 bucks a month i think.  first months free.
my kid played it for 8 or 9 months and loved it. people that are into that roleplaying d&d stuff really seem to enjoy it

Beware: Everquest can take over your life. At one company I was at it was known as Evercrack.

Quit a job to play a game?
She didnt dump him because of that. It was because hes a sad loser. lol.

I tried Everquest, and didnt like it. Found it boring.

If you want that kind of game, get DARK AGE OF CAMELOT, same nature of EQ but MUCH better according to reviews.

EQ... hehe. If you enjoy sitting on your bellybutton for 8-24hrs or MORE to get this one COOL item then yea..its a great game. I played it for a year and its full of dysfunctional sad indiv's who have no life nor want a life. Yea, you'll find that in all on-line games BUT EQ draws them like flies.

I play Dark Age Of Camalot some. Its much better and less time consuming. The combat system is much better and the melee classes are actualy formiable.

My advice... take it back and get DAOC.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".
