Maybe it's just me, but I don't believe that a person should receive a pension after being convicted for conspiracy to commit bribery, mail fraud, wire fraud, and tax evasion.

Yes, dear friends, Duke Cunningham is still on the government teet.

Where's the bill on the house floor to put an end to this?

And I don't think you ever will see such a bill.  They're too afraid their own activities will be found out some day and then where would they be.

It's always bothered me that they get to pick their own salary too.
Do not attribute to malice what can be easily explained by incompetence, fear, ignorance or stupidity, because there are millions more garden variety idiots walking around in the world than there are blackhearted Machiavellis.

Congressmen should not be getting any pension to begin with. It's a "public service" remember?

The number of perks that "public servants" have given themselves is just ridiculous. A stinkin city councilman demands a friken permanent prime parking spot at the airport. Rationalize that...

I remember reading somewhere that when Wilie Brown was a mayor of SF, he was not only driven around in his mayoral limousine, but he had an escort of cops on motorcycles who were running in front of him and stopping the cross traffic.

How sick is that? Give me just one reason that we allow them do to this kind of crap.

They should get no pension, and should not be paid more the 50 k a year.  They should be audited by the IRS ever 2 years to make sure they dont take kick backs.
