Last night I had this occur..........

The name malibu appeared in the upper right corner and REMAINED there!

All sound became muffled!

This has happened before. The name wasn't the same. Although I seem to recall the name malibu doing this at least once before.

Although malibu was reported on the roster as flying for bishops and I was flying for knights. It's possible malibu was flying for the knights and switched to bishops just before I checked.

To try and fix this I logged out of the arena and back in and after everything came through the name malibu reappeared in the upper right corner and stayed there, sound was muffled.

I tried going to the TA, name was gone, sound was normal, I returning to MA and the name reappeared in the upper right corner, sound muffled!

The only way I could fix this was to log off, close AH, and start AH and log on again. That worked to clear the name from the upper right corner and sound returned to normal.

I've seen the same thing with different names.

I've always assumed the person transmitting wasnt letting go of the transmit key

That was my thought as well.

BUT when it stays there for over 10 minutes, returns when you leave the arena and come back, and the person is flying for another country as well?????????????

I've even asked people if their mic button was stuck. That usually fixed it.

This was something else though..............

Yep, I get that occasionally. IIRC I used to get it alot more and haven't recently though. Then again I haven't been flying as regularly as I used to.
