Rip ? about 777 video
« on: May 03, 2001, 09:28:00 AM »
Saw a vidoe on the production and first flight of the 777. Was told it was shown on Nova and was about 5 hours long. It was very interesting. If you get a chance can you see if tape is for sale and where to get it? Also next time you are DFW area and want to get close to one in maintenance hanger let me know?

I seen parts of that video (you can see the software called CATIA that I support on that video) and I haven't a clue where one could find it, maybe the NOVA website?  We have it here in our library, but I don't have two VCRs' for recording though...thks for the offer, although I've been thru many 777's from a skelatal frame work to the finished product (where we have to wear little white booties over our shoes to prevent dirt from entering the customers A/C)...hehe!

It's truly the cadillac of the skies, and its a global opinion from airline customers.

Alittle on-topic joke for you too:
SIGNS YOU'VE CHOSEN A "NO FRILLS" AIRLINE

You can't board the plane unless you have the exact change.

Before you take off, the stewardess tells you to fasten your Velcro.

The Captain asks all the passengers to chip in a little for gas.

When they pull the steps away, the plane starts rocking.

The Captain yells at the ground crew to get the cows off the runway.

You ask the Captain how often their planes crash and he says, "Just once."

No movie. Don't need one. Your life keeps flashing before your eyes.

You see a man with a gun, but he's demanding to be let off the plane.

Rip I figured you had been threw them alot. just givening you a approtuninty to see how a end user maintains one.

And as for your joke I dont know the details but we had a plane make an emergency landing for a medical problem with a passenger. the country and airport did not value the wealth of our airline and would not take credit for fuel. They asked the passengers for donations and the captain paid rest on his credit card.

Hey, I'd love to see your end of things!  My Bro-in-law is a flight mech for TWA (now American) and I;ve been on the FLine with him too, its amazing and fun to see how others do their jobs, I'd be honored to join you in a tour if you can get it set up when I'm down there!

That captain must have had a Platinum card! HEHE!
