Request for the AvA Administrators
« on: April 19, 2006, 07:33:21 AM »
Would it be possible after the BOB set is over in mid May to do a short set for the last part of may, and then thereafter to have the sets correspond to the monthly "tours"?  I wanted to see how I did overall in the pacific set up, but it was a little distracting to have to look up stats in two different months.  It will be even more difficult at the end of the April "tour" to distinquish BOB stats from the Rhine set we just completed.

I know "score means nothing" for most in the AvA -- I just want to be able to judge if I am improving at all, where my strengths and (mostly) weaknesses are, etc.  Score and/or kill stats are the easiest yardstick to do that by, thus my request for a "cleaner" look.

Thanks.

I agree, I try to keep track of our squads progress on the 109's in each setup, but several times already we have split a month between two setups.

I try to add a bit of immersiveness to our squad by tracking all of our progress from month to month and awarding "medals" for reaching certain milestons or accomplishments. Having one setup per tour would make it much easier to see how each pilot progresses from month-to-month.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

When you see me, just stay nice and level at about 200mph -- I guarantee my dogfighting skills won't improve at all under such conditions.  :lol

Thanks for the compliment!

It would get too difficult - our current setups stretch past the current tour that's going on, and a month (a tour) in the Pacific would be too long, IMO. And a month of Winter Rhine will get old... Sorry, I don't see that happening any time soon.

I have an abysmal 2.5% hit rate in a fighter from this past month - I haven't let that bother me (I was flying attack for most of the Rhine Winter, and now I haven't been hitting anyone lately), instead I try to have fun whenever I'm flying. Don't pay any attention to the scores, it doesn't matter if you've improved in a plane or not - the important thing is that you're having fun!

Good luck & have fun!

Agreed.  Attention spans being what they are, there aren't many setups we can run for a solid month.  The ETO RPS we're doing now is probably the only one, and of course that changes on almost a daily basis.  Most folks seemed to think that our PAC RPS was too long, and the specialty setups like Finrus, Tunisia and Italy ordinarily don't last more than a week before people tire of them.

Then how about staying with a theater, but not necessarily the same map or planeset? Like one month with the Germans, and another month with the Japanese?
