I've searched the forums and netaces.org and many other sites but I can't find out how to drop the external tanks. I'm sure its easy but I can't find it.

while in your plane hit the backspace key til you see 'DT' in your secondary gun ammo window.......hit b to drop the tank........backspace til you reselect the weapons you want

hit to select your secondary weapon, then B to fire, like bombs or cannons

use the backspace key (default mapped to toggle secondary weapon) to change your secondary weapon to DT (drop tank), then "shoot" your secondary weapon. The drop tank will drop.

nope EXT is what it says in the fuel guage. DT on the weapon selector

Thanks for everyone's help.

Now I can take off with 1/2 fuel tanks and drop the external ones like I've been reading about.

Just don't forget to select your secondary weapon again. Otherwise you can't fire it. i.e. .303 only in a Spit.
