For the sake of the realistic nature of the AvA, please turn the dar down.

After tonight, enough is enough, please.

Click the WhatsHeDoinNow button and his webcam will be activated and you can receive the video feed (please wait an hour after eating to utilize this feature).  There have been some complaints, seems the webcam feed has melted several monitors and the sight of Jester can cause epileptic seizures, loss of appetite, balding, and night terrors (use at your own risk).

The WhatsHeGonnaDo button is a big waste of time.  It’s been hard-coded to say “Climb real high, make lame passes, RTB, crash land”, like everybody doesn’t already know that.

There is a WhatsHeThinkinNow button but I don’t think it’s functional.  Click it and nothing happens.  Although one time I stuck the speaker up to my ear and I swear I could hear the ocean....

ALthought there was no need for that:

and yes it would be nice to have the radar turned down..... that's why I fly in the AvA.... the whole "historical"  thing is what grabs my interest...  Not very historical With ultra spy sattellite radars that know when u turn ur engine on  :( :(

One idea
« Reply #26 on: May 06, 2006, 04:09:35 PM »
Hi all,

Just one idea to solve this DAR problem: why not have it and not have it at the same time? I explain...

What whe should have was DAR with accurate historical range and viewable only in tower! Not viewable in flight, thats all...When in flight, only the DAR Bar, and that is more than it should be.

Only with someone in tower giving directions to the ones flying you could be directed to combat. But wasn't that precisely what the GCI people did in at the time? So, you would have correct dar range and GCI, just like in those days or you would fly around chasing dar bars and picking targets visually, wich is quite fair.

What do you chaps say?

AvA Radar Settings
« Reply #28 on: May 10, 2006, 05:57:34 PM »
I was under the impression that AvA was mostly for those that wanted to "virtually experience" the historical side of the war.
Furballing is always plentiful in MA, for those that like to Furball, or like someone said; in the middle of the channel where the sides are closest.

I vote to make it historical....

It does make it too easy to intercept someone if you see them coming and where they are headed as soon as the leave the coast. (although I usually get shot down anyway; especially when flying that Axis C-47 that Storch suggested ):D

Agreed with the inflight radar being off idea, I thought of that last night but decided not to suggest it for fear of being shouted down.

But since someone else took the pluinge, then by all means I agree!

Not to keep bringing up WarBirds- I know I do it a lot, but in this case I feel its a good comparison- we had in-flight off, but historical settings in the tower. It was actually kind of fun to play radar controller- was pretty damn suspenseful trying to direct the interceptor, guess at alt and targets, try to put the interceptor just behind or above the contact...

Im all for it! :aok
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.
