As a former officer of 9 years and now doing occasional reserve work, I know the feelings all too well.

My prayers and hopes for his family<S>!

Please accept the heartfelt condolences from the Swager family to his family and all of his friends.
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

The hell words aren't adequate.  The words are "FRY THE SCUM".
Maybe if we do that often enough, there won't be anymore of this kind of post or ones like about the federal prosecutor killed in Columbiau South Carolina Monday night, by a 16 year old, two 17 year olds and a 19 years old, just after they had shot up a drive in restaraunt and just before the committed three other armed robberies!
Nope,  FRY 'EM! NO MERCY!   They didn't show any, why should we as a society do so.

  :(   :(   :(   :(

Sorry for the rant!  I just go ballistic when the good guys go down and then we get to hear how sad it is that they have ruined their life.

Best of luck to you and yours Crapgame.  Not that it will help, but others do share more than your grief.

:( It always saddens me to hear of these tragedies. Condolences to the family and friends

And fer cryin' out loud Sunchaser and Sygygy, give it a rest until the trial at the very least, will ya?

The reason for mercy as a society is that we are better than idiots like that...

sorry about this.

<S>.  Very sorry to read this.

My father is a 30 year vet, and his partner and curling/golfing mate died as a result of a self inflicted gunshot wound back in 1997 in Sask, Canada.  My father has never been the same since that day, so I have seen a glimmer of what this officer's family and friends are going through.

My heart goes out.
