Sure pal, despite being a nazi he has a lot more credibility than you on the matter of how the JU87 was used on the Eastern front. :aok

Opinions vary.  Rudel tells a great story, but I'm not sure how much of it you can trust, either.

- oldman (read somewhere that a claim of 500 tanks killed with those 37s is ridiculous)

Yeah, I think if you added up all the victories the German Aces claimed, about 2 dozen of them shot down more planes then were ever built.  Many tanks apparently exploded form the mere sound of Rudel's engine warming, kind of like the He177 that way . . .

Wasn't over claiming built into the German system basically so that claims of victories won them promotions, moved them back to better, less risky jobs?  I seem to recall somethingh about that from the Battle of Britain . . .

Hm, I've been believing that the Germans had to have a witness or give the location of the wreck for a claimed kill. Not sure about that, and anyway it wouldn't affect Rudel's tank score... But anyone willing to climb in an aircraft during WWII with no certainty of coming home does deserve a bit of appreciation from us computer gamers, IMO. We don't really die here so it's easy for us to up a Stuka to a hail of AAA and a swarm of enemy fighters...
