This gets more and more rediculous.  Frame Rates hit an all time low with increased screen stutters so much so  only thing to do is just log.  Also noticed if I alt-tab to go to desk top my mouse cursor is no longer available unless I close the game.  Never had this problem before!!!  Mapped Keys disappear/change,   joystick mapping  disappears/changes,  saved skins change back to default at will, never ending crap with update patches.

I had frame rates down at 5-10fpm but after about 10 minutes they were back to 55-60 where they remained.  I also alt-tabbed while reprofiling my X52 and noticed no cursor but after a minute or two it showed up.  Now the cursor pops up immediately with Alt-tab.  Looks like there is some sort of background processing that's going on after you first initiate some of these actions but it appears to correct itself.  I'll need to see what happens tonight though to see if it's going to be an on-going problem everytime you boot up.

I donīt know if it will fix your problems, but i had LOTS screen-stutters, low FR & cursor disappearing too.
It all went away yesterday after i updated my Nvidia drivers.
Stutters & cursor problems gone and FR problems considerable less than before.

I cannot duplicate the cursor issue.  Need information.  A DXDIAG outout would help.

Stutters can be caused by a lot of things.  More than likely, like Lusche found out, it could be a driver issue.

just a random thought here, but where is your lod setting?

I had mine set to full detail, and noticed that the ack guns and lots of tracers would slow the game down for me...

just backed off the detail slider some, and all was well.

have had top and bottom sliders only a tad off far right with the middle slider all the way to the right ever since the big terrain graphic update (trees to be exact) all sliders far right makes no significant improvement in FR or stutters,  except crashing into trees when they abruptly appear and GV's not visible at a distance.  Didn't get as near the amount of stutters before only occasionally and that was far and few between.  Updated vid driver before posting thread,  Nothing different on computer except changing to nvidia 61.77 driver  and having new update and patch 1 of that update installed.  Game is now basically unplayable period.  screen shot of FR and sliders prior to update.

Try re-arranging the usb ports you're using. I had the exact same problem, 1 to 3 FPS slide show.. it only fixed it sometimes tho.

Also try starting with no joysticks, then plug em in hot.. you'll see the game crawl down to a few fps if it doesnt like that usb port and the cursor will do the jig across the screen.

i've had the same disappearing cursor issue when i've alt-tabbed out of the game and gone back to windows.

if i hit control-alt-delete to pull up the task manager (to terminate the frozen game) the cursor reappears.

thanks for suggestions................tr ied them all and still same issues.  Patience is a virtue so I'll be patient and see what fixes HT comes up with.  Thanks all for ideas  <>

I still need to see a DXDIAG output.  Without it, I would be guessing.
